What a Real Hero Looks Like

Susana Trimarco was a housewife in Argentina who led an ordinary, uneventful life.

One day, her daughter, Marita, went to a doctor’s appointment and never came home. She was abducted and forced to work as a sex slave.  I think most concerned parents would do everything possible to find their daughter, like notifying the police and getting as involved as possible.

Trimarco went above and beyond. When the Argentinian police ignored her pleas for help, she took matters into her own hands by actually posing as a recruiter of sex workers to get to the bottom of what happened to her daughter. Ironically, Trimarco help set many young women free from this horrible way of life, but has not been able to find her own daughter.

Trimarco has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, and was presented with the Women of Courage award by the Department of State.

The entire story is a bit too long to sum up here, so I hope you all take the time to click on the link and read it. It made me cry, and I am still crying as I write this. I hope this woman finds her daughter, and that karma is a real bitch to the criminals who did this to her daughter and all of the other innocent women who are suffering the same fate.
