The people won yesterday

As you all probably know by now, President Obama has been elected to a second term.

I had been worried about this for awhile. I knew it would be close, and had a bad feeling that Obama would not get re-elected. But he was!!!

Romney and many other Republicans have shown that they do not understand the needs of women and minorities. Comments about “legitimate rape” and pregnancies that result from rape as being acts of God don’t need much of an explanation because they are so backward. Not to mention the probability that Romney would have cancelled funding to Planned Parenthood.

Earlier in the year, Romney spoke in Florida and said that if he became president, he would make life so difficult for undocumented immigrants that they would “deport themselves.”

On the news last night, a lot of analysts said that Romney lost because the population the Republicans cater to is losing its grasp on power in the country – the wealthy white folks. In the future, they’re going to need to look for ways to expand their base – which could mean changing their platform entirely.

Looks like the 47% don’t just sit around collecting welfare checks after all!
